Map the timing requirement
Work out whether the application needs visible time in the room, NTP distribution, LTC timecode, PTP synchronization or a combination.
Broadcast timing since 1984
We design and manufacture in Italy the synchronization systems that keep control rooms, studios and production teams aligned: NTP and LTC studio clocks, video clock inserters, NTP/LTC converters and PTP IEEE 1588 grandmasters.
Choose your system
Start from the timing problem you need to solve and find the El-man system built for it.
Visibility in the studio
LED displays that stay readable in any lighting condition, so the reference time is visible across the whole room.
Time on air
Overlay clock, timer and timecode onto live video without interrupting the production chain.
Timecode distribution
Bridge network time into timecode workflows with a dedicated, reliable LTC generator.
Network master clock
GNSS-disciplined PTP IEEE 1588 grandmaster, with a hardware timer and an integrated web dashboard.
Autonomous synchronization
Synchronizes over the Narrowband-IoT cellular network: no cabling, no local network configuration.
Large format
High-brightness RGB LED matrix for halls, studios and any space where the time must read from a distance.

Why El-man
From the control room to the distribution network, every installation needs the right interface, signal and level of accuracy. Since 1984 we have helped studios and broadcasters pick the reliable route, not the most expensive one.
A practical method
A clear path removes the guesswork before the equipment reaches the rack or the studio wall.
Work out whether the application needs visible time in the room, NTP distribution, LTC timecode, PTP synchronization or a combination.
Pick interfaces and products compatible with the existing network, the video chain and the operating environment, without rebuilding the installation.
Deploy a timing solution operators can rely on in the most critical production moments, with direct support over time.
Technical questions
These are the questions technical teams ask most often before choosing a timing system. If yours is not here, send it to us directly.
Elettronica Mangione designs synchronized digital studio clocks (WiFi, LTC and SPT series), video clock inserters, NTP/LTC converters, PTP IEEE 1588 grandmasters, RGB LED displays and NB-IoT clocks for broadcast and professional applications.
NTP is the practical choice for distributing time over a standard LAN with millisecond accuracy. PTP IEEE 1588 uses hardware timestamping and reaches sub-microsecond accuracy, but it requires compatible network equipment. El-man supports both routes, including the PTPMaster grandmaster.
Yes. The NTP/LTC converter receives the NTP reference over Ethernet and generates LTC timecode on a balanced 3-pin XLR output and an unbalanced BNC output, with programmable GPIO. The conversion is one-way, from NTP to LTC.
The OSD inserter overlays clock, timer and timecode onto live video with hardware passthrough, on broadcast formats up to 1080p59.94. The source can be NTP or LTC, and the overlay is controlled in real time through the web dashboard, HTTP API or UDP commands.
Yes. PTPMaster is a GNSS-disciplined PTP IEEE 1588v2 Layer 3 grandmaster with a hardware timer, supporting the SMPTE ST 2059-2 broadcast profile and AES67 for audio-over-IP. It can also act as an NTP Stratum-1 server for non-PTP hosts in mixed networks.
Not always. Studio clocks synchronize over LAN, WiFi or PoE from an NTP server, while the NB-IoT clock uses the Narrowband-IoT cellular infrastructure directly: it synchronizes on its own, with no cabling and no local network configuration.
Yes. Studio clocks come in a range of sizes, colours and mounting options, and systems can be customized around the needs of a specific room or infrastructure. The technical discussion happens before the quote, directly with the people who design the products.
